ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town with no stop lights and barely a population, but got to enjoy the outdoors and serenity of nature. Although I used to complain a lot about there being nothing to do, the thing I didn’t realize back then was that having nothing to do makes your brain do funny things…like find things to do.

Boredom sparked creativity.

I learned to draw, paint, and create things on my own. So I guess you could say that I’m self-taught, although Bob Ross and my Dad certainly taught me a lot about painting. My Mom would probably never admit it, but she’s an artist as well. She dabbles in paint, and she’s better than she thinks she is, but her true craft is…well, crafts! And certainly crocheting. I get a lot of my inspiration from her. There are a lot of other artists that I love and have been inspired by over the years as well…too many to talk about here.

I got my start in graphic design and web development sometime after I left college and wanted to create my own business. I love my job and working to help people in their businesses, but I really wanted to create something for myself. I wanted something to call my own and to have a creative outlet that was just for me.

So, Two Door Studio was established. The name – well it certainly has meaning to me, but ultimately my son chose it. My two-year-old was very adamant about it, and he’s pretty convincing.

Two Door Studio is where I get to create whatever I want, but share it with others in the hopes that my creations can help other mission-driven entrepreneurs – whether it be icons for their business website or brochures or a beautiful painting that they can hang in their office or home and be inspired by every day.
